In many ways, making a workout easier is simply doing the opposite of these ideas. Here are some additional thoughts if you find a workout to be too challenging for.

For example, to burn fat, you need to reduce your rest times between sets and keep your heart rate up. This might be challenging when you first start. If you find a workout too challenging, here are some ideas:

  • You can press pause on a workout at any time. One of the ways you can measure your progress when just getting started is simply by tracking in the notes log, how many times you had to press pause during a workout. If you feel a workout is too much, you should just press pause and then restart when you are ready. As you go through the workout multiple times, you will find yourself doing this less as a measure of progress
  • Lower the weight. You should try using weights that are not so taxing for you.
